I have several favorite lines from songs, varied as much in song style as reason for my love. However, for the sake of this question, I'll just list one:
"I know it seems like sometimes I don't care, but you are the colors that I wear."
-- "3 AM," Signs of Life, Poets of the Fall
I love the sincerity in Marko Saaresto's voice as he sings this line. I love the poetry of the flow of the words. I love the unexplained but completely understandable metaphor. But most of all, I love the image it evokes in my head: a man of few words who can't and doesn't know how to talk about his feelings trying to explain to his lover just how much he loves him (everyone's gay in my head), and the look of sudden, amazed clarity on his lover's face, because...he already knew all along.
I'm not a romantic, I swear to god, but this song will always make me smile. Forever and ever, amen.
By the way, if you don't already know of the awesomeness that is Poets of the Fall, do yourelf a favor and look them up. They're incredible.
